IMPACT Melanoma

Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer, killing one person every 50 minutes. It is the 2nd most common cancer in teens and young adults ages 15-29. However when caught early it is almost always curable. IMPACT Melanoma is a national non-profit organization dedicated to working to reduce the incidence of melanoma. Committed to skin cancer prevention and early detection, we provide a variety of award-winning programs which aim to raise awareness and educate the public about skin cancer, as well as support services for those struggling with the disease. Since our first runner crossed the finish line in 2005, IMPACT Melanoma’s Team IMPACT has raised over $1 million dollars to support our mission of education, prevention and support in the fight against melanoma.

Our runners receive complimentary marathon training from our team coach,  exclusive meet & greet with marathon legend and Honorary Team Captain Bill Rodgers (Boston Billy), informative team meetings, celebratory events, team long runs on the marathon course, Team IMPACT team apparel, private pre-race team space in Hopkinton with private bathrooms, food and more! And of course lots of sunscreen and lip balm for protected running! To help our runners exceed their fundraising goals, IMPACT Melanoma also provides fundraising tips, resources and one-on-one help. Team IMPACT consists of both qualified and charity runners. Despite coming from different backgrounds and levels of running experience, each of our runners share a passion for our cause. Many are survivors, friends or family members of survivors or have lost a loved one to melanoma. It is their dedication that helps spread awareness and educate others. Together we can outrun melanoma!

Officially qualified participants who are already entered in the 127th Boston Marathon that wish to raise funds for IMPACT Melanoma may still do so using the learn more button below.
